Profile of Fergus Paterson

I am a General Orthopaedic Surgeon with expertise in trauma and a special interest in the orthopaedic aspects of the knee.

Having qualified from St. Mary's Hospital, Paddington, London in 1971, full registration with the GMC was gained in 1972 (No.01496112). The FRCS diploma from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh was awarded in 1975 and from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1976. My specialist training in Orthopaedic Surgery was at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital from 1981-88; CCST denoting completion of Higher Surgical Training was awarded in 1986.

After 15 years as Senior Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the West Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust I have recently left the NHS to become fully private with consulting rooms at The Bupa Cromwell Hospital, London and the The Lister Hospital, Chelsea, London, . Contacts, however, with the NHS will continue in the form of honorary consultant posts at WMUHT and also lecturer to the Imperial College Medical School.
